kabelo was born from our deep-seated conviction that charitable giving in the United States — especially the donations solicited from and given by the general public — is hopelessly broken. It's hardly a novel observation. Three examples will do:
- Untargeted, low-yield campaigns. Direct mail, phone banks, and mass appeals burn a meaningful share of every fundraising dollar at single-digit response rates.
- Retention is the leak no one fixes. First-time donor retention hovers around 20%; four out of five give once and disappear.
- Willing donors give up. Giving regularly to several causes means a portal, login, payment method, and tax receipt for each — most don't bother.

We took the name kabelo from Setswana, the national language of Botswana, where it means to distribute or to give — words that capture our mission. Our SaaS platform is a modern, innovative, end-to-end solution that makes giving simpler, more efficient, and fully compliant for donors, sponsor organizations, and recipient charities alike.
